Born in 1947 and a Southern California Native, Corbett was born to a father who was also an artist and from early childhood felt a deep connection to nature and animals as he visited National parks such as Sequoia and King’s Canyon, Yosemite, local beaches, and the desert. Always interested in European and American art history, his travels across the United States, Canada, the British Isles, and Europe have given him inspiration for capturing breathtaking land and cityscapes, and the sky above them.
Later in his career, Corbett turned his attention towards portraits of people, including celebrities, friends and family, and also beloved pets. His high attention to detail renders strikingly accurate images which truly capture the spirit of each subject that he is commissioned to paint. After recently retiring from a successful career in the corporate world, Corbett has devoted his time to working exclusively in oils, and has been recognized for his paintings in several art competitions. He was honored to be accepted as a Member of the Dana Point Fine Arts Association in 2016, and paints daily. Corbett is available to discuss any commission work you may have, be it of a beloved family member, including furred or feathered friends, as well as recreating a favorite travel photo or memory that you may have.
